Our school serves the parish of St Bernard’s in Ellesmere Port. Children sometimes visit St Bernard’s Church to learn about the different signs and symbols of Catholic faith. At other times Fr. Niall comes in to celebrate Mass with us in school. Deacon Paul and Deacon Tony also come into school to help us learn about life in the clergy and teach us about Mass itself.
St Bernard’s is part of the Roman Catholic Churches of Ellesmere Port and Hooton.
The Local Pastoral Area (LPA) is served by the Churches of:
- St Saviour’s, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port
- St Mary of the Angel’s, Hooton
- Our Lady Star of the Sea, Ellesmere Port
- Bernard of Clairvaux, Ellesmere Port.
The Clergy support each other in ministry to the Parishes of the area. The Clergy are Father Louis Maggiore, Deacon Anthony (Tony) Hunt, Father Niall Mullaley and Deacon Paul Sutton.
The parish website can be found here.
First Forgiveness takes place in Year 3 during Advent with First Holy Communion in the summer term of Year 3. Throughout the programme parents are encouraged to work together with school and parish to prepare the children during this very important year.
