Our curriculum focus for spring has been based on social justice and inspired by our work with Action Transport Theatre and the play Adrift.
Over the spring term all classes have been learning about social justice in their curriculum. To start the work, KS2 watched the play they cocreated with Action Transport Theatre. This has been touring around Ignite schools and will be starting a national tour later this year. Classes then went on to look at a range of books that built on the theme of migration and refugees. We explored the concept of home and explored the impact of having to move away.
Our younger children have been looking at the story of Paddington and Beegu and thinking about how we could welcome newcomers to St Bernard's.
The work is due to culminate in holy week as we pray for those displaced across our world. We look forward to sharing our work with everyone soon.
